[suse-oracle] SL 10.1 + 10g R2 + HTMLDB

Ansgar Schlueter

I am struggling with SuSE Linux 10.1, Oracle 10g R2 DB and HTMLDB from the
companion CD.

Installation of 10g R2 went without any problem. I used the available
Information for 10g R2 and SL 10.0.

Installation of HTTP server and HTMLDB from companion CD failed, because
apache couldn't start because of missing libdb.so.2. This problem can be
resolved by installing the gnome-libs.

Now the installation of apache and HTMLDB showed no problems. The HTTP
server is working on port 7780 but when trying to use htmldb I get the
following error message in my browser:

Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance
downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Oracle-Application-Server-10g/ Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at
tux02.tm.iabg.de Port 7780

I enabled PLSQL debugging and found the following error message:

<265829316 ms>[ReqStartTime: 12/Jun/2006:15:50:42]
<265829316 ms>Request ID ReqID:24775_1150120242
<265829316 ms>Connecting to database with connect string :
<265829366 ms>ORA-604 LogOn ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level
ORA-00911: invalid character
<265829366 ms>Stale Connection due to Oracle error 604
<265829366 ms>Logoff: Closing connection due to stale connection
<265829366 ms>[ReqEndtime: 12/Jun/2006:15:50:42]
<265829366 ms>[ReqExecTime: 50 ms]

So there seems to be a problem with the Logon to the HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER
schema. I'm puzzled with the "ORA-00911: invalid character", since the
password does not have any special characters. Using sqlplus to login to
the HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER is possible without any problem.

So I am lost at this point and would be glad to get any hints to solve this
